Activities Day 2

Morning

  Skip the 7-hour drive and arrive fresh. This 60-minute flight transports you from the shores of Lake Victoria to the savannah of Murchison Falls. Upon landing at Pakuba, your guide will be waiting at the airstrip for your first game drive en route to the lodge.

Upon Arrival

• 
  Enjoy a short, scenic transfer from the airstrip to Nile Safari Lodge. After a seamless check-in, spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure. We have arranged for a private sundowner experience on your deck, allowing you to unwind in total privacy overlooking the river.

Activities Day 3

Morning

  After a scenic drive to the Kaniyo Pabidi sector, you will enter the ancient Mahogany forest of Budongo. Unlike the mountainous terrain of Kibale, this forest offers relatively flat trails, allowing for a more relaxed trek. You will track a habituated community of chimpanzees, observing their social dynamics and feeding behaviors under the canopy of some of East Africa's oldest ironwood trees.

Afternoon

  Stand at the brink of the world’s most powerful waterfall. Here, the entire Victoria Nile—50 meters wide—is compressed into a tiny gorge just 7 meters wide. The result is a visceral display of nature's power, as the water explodes 43 meters down into the "Devil's Cauldron" with a thunderous roar.

Activity Day 4

  Embark on a private boat charter to the Nile Delta, where the river widens into Lake Albert. Unlike the standard tourist launches, this private cruise is paced for silence and observation. Enjoy a "floating picnic" with premium wine and snacks on board as we drift through the papyrus wetlands, searching for the prehistoric Shoebill Stork away from the crowds.

Activity Day 5

Morning

  Board a morning flight from Murchison Falls to Kasese/Mweya Airstrip. This scenic journey traces the spine of the Albertine Rift, trading views of the Nile for the majestic Rwenzori "Mountains of the Moon." Recovery: Upon arrival at Kyambura Gorge Lodge, spend the afternoon at leisure. Relax by the saltwater pool with a drink, soaking in the panoramic views of the savannah to recharge for tomorrow's research.

Activity Day 6

All Day

  Go beyond the standard game drive. This morning, you have special permission to join researchers tracking lions with radio collars, providing deeper insight into predator conservation efforts. Afternoon: Trade the vehicle for a walking safari to track banded mongooses. This intimate, on-foot experience offers a different perspective on the park's smaller, highly social carnivores.

Activity Day 7

  Enjoy a slow start to the day before embarking on a Private Lunch Cruise on the Kazinga Channel. By chartering a private boat, you avoid the crowded scheduled launches, allowing you to glide silently past the world’s highest concentration of hippos. Enjoy a freshly prepared lunch on board while elephants drink at the water’s edge just meters away.

Activity Day 8

Morning

  Drive south to the remote Ishasha Sector (approx. 2 hours), passing through the Maramagambo Forest. You will check into Ishasha Wilderness Camp, the only luxury lodge located within this sector of the park. Evening: Cap off the day with a classic sundowner game drive, sipping cold drinks in the bush as the sun dips below the horizon.

Activity Day 9

  While standard tours rush through Ishasha in just a few hours, we have dedicated an entire day to this pursuit. This "slow safari" approach gives us the luxury of time to scour the fig trees for the famous lions. By waiting for the perfect moment—usually when the heat rises—we maximize our chances of seeing the pride resting high in the branches to escape the tsetse flies.

Activity Day 10

  Leaving the savannah behind, you will drive south into the terraced highlands of Kigezi (approx. 4 hours). As the road climbs, the air cools and the views expand. You will check into Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge, Uganda’s highest lodge. Built of volcanic stone, your private cottage features a roaring fireplace, a personal butler, and front-row views of the Virunga Volcanoes.

Activity Day 11

  Gorilla Habituation Experience (GHEX). The Experience: The ultimate primate encounter. Instead of the standard 1-hour viewing, you will spend 4 hours with researchers and rangers in the presence of a semi-habituated gorilla family. You will witness the delicate process of habituation—getting wild gorillas comfortable with human presence—offering a raw, unpredictable, and deeply educational insight into their behavior

Activity Day 12

All Day

  Today, you will see exactly where your tourism dollars go. Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge is unique because the community owns it through the Nkuringo Community Conservation & Development Foundation (NCCDF). You will visit their projects—from the vocational center to the buffer zone initiatives—to see how high-end tourism directly funds the health and education of the people who protect the forest.

Activity Day 13

Morning

  A second Standard Gorilla Trek. Visit a different gorilla family to compare group dynamics and behaviors. Then go on the Batwa Cultural Forest Trail. Guided by Batwa elders in the Buniga Forest buffer zone, this cultural walk reveals the ancient secrets of the forest's original inhabitants. It is a lower-impact activity, perfect for "cooling down" after yesterday's long habituation trek.

Activity Day 14

• 
  After a final breakfast in the clouds, transfer down the mountain to Kisoro Airstrip. You will board a morning flight back to Entebbe, enjoying one last view of the volcanoes from the air. Day Use: We have booked a day room for you at the Protea Hotel Entebbe (5 minutes from the airport). Enjoy a hot shower and a relaxed dinner before your private transfer to the terminal for your international flight home.
